This isn't just about symptom control. The Burnout Program goes deeper — examining the full biological, psychological, and social aspects of mental health care.
We coordinate thorough psychiatric assessments, liaising with your GP and allied health team, and provide written communication after every session. With three comprehensive appointments, we ensure that care connects every piece of the picture.
This is modern psychiatry — designed to fit around your life, including options for telehealth burnout support.
Burnout is not simply exhaustion; it exists at the intersection of biological, psychological, and social factors. Understanding burnout properly requires time, expertise, and a willingness to look beyond symptoms. Our Burnout Program offers a structured three-appointment psychiatric assessment that delves deeper than a standard consultation. We evaluate everything — mind, body, lifestyle, and life circumstances — to build a tailored plan that fits your unique needs.
Who is this program designed for?
- Persistent exhaustion that rest does not alleviate
- Low mood, anxiety, or feelings of emotional flatness
- Brain fog or difficulty concentrating
- Feeling detached, irritable, or unlike yourself
- Running on empty despite managing work, family, or life obligations
- Questioning whether a physical issue may be contributing to your mental health challenges
**Session 1 — Comprehensive Psychiatric Assessment**
Our initial session includes an extended, unhurried evaluation covering:
- Psychiatric history, mood, anxiety, trauma, and cognitive function
- Neurodiversity considerations where relevant
- Sleep quality, patterns, and circadian rhythm
- Hormonal considerations
- Nutrition, lifestyle, and physical activity
- Work, relationships, and life circumstances
Recognizing that mental health and physical health are deeply interconnected, we explore physical health factors as part of every assessment. This includes thyroid function, nutritional status, inflammatory markers, hormonal health, and metabolic health. If clinically indicated, we may recommend further investigations through your GP or our partner laboratory to enhance your mental health care.
Investigations may include:
- Blood panels — assessing nutritional status, thyroid function, inflammatory markers, and hormonal and metabolic health
- Gut microbiome testing — emerging research suggests the gut-brain connection may influence mood, energy, and cognitive function
- Pharmacogenomic testing — to understand how your genetics may affect your response to medications such as SSRI antidepressants
- Other clinically indicated investigations
**Session 2 — Review & Planning (approx. 6 weeks later)**
During this session, we review findings and any investigation results. Your individualized management plan may encompass:
- Ongoing psychiatric management
- Medication, if clinically indicated
- Sleep optimization strategies
- Nutritional and lifestyle recommendations
- Stress management and nervous system regulation
- Referrals to allied health professionals — psychology, dietitian, and others
- Coordination of a Mental Health Care Plan with your GP
**Session 3 — Progress Review (approx. 3 months later)**
In the final session, we assess your mental health, physical health, and lifestyle progress. We evaluate your response to medication, investigations, and any input from allied health professionals. This session allows us to refine your management plan, discuss longer-term care planning, and ensure ongoing shared care with your GP where appropriate. Additionally, we offer telehealth burnout support options to make accessing care more convenient.

Your dedicated 90-minute psychiatric assessment provides essential mental health care — a time to talk, a time to be heard, and a thoughtful and detailed action plan to guide you on a new path, including telehealth burnout support options.
Sometimes you need a little longer for effective mental health care. You want time — to talk, to reflect, and to be heard properly. You also seek something to take away that reconciles and makes sense of it all. The Primrose Extended Consultation offers a 90-minute psychiatric assessment that is thorough, unhurried, and focused entirely on exploring your mental health needs. This session provides a holistic and comprehensive plan, including options for telehealth burnout support.
You seek a thorough psychiatric assessment to obtain a specialist opinion and a detailed management plan for your mental health care. While you prefer your GP to oversee your ongoing care, you would like specialist input and direction. You desire a comprehensive perspective on conditions such as anxiety, depression, burnout, ADHD, or another mental health issue. If you are navigating significant life transitions like perimenopause, postpartum recovery, or a career change, understanding your mental health becomes even more crucial. If you have received a diagnosis that you are uncertain about, seeking clarity through expert guidance is essential, especially with the support of telehealth burnout resources.
Psychiatric and mental health care history includes mood, anxiety, trauma, and emotional regulation. We also consider neurodiversity, such as ADHD and ASD, when relevant. An evaluation of executive functioning can enhance work and athletic performance. Support for body image is an important aspect of mental health care. Additionally, we assess sleep quality, duration, and patterns. Physical health considerations—such as thyroid function, nutritional status, and hormonal and metabolic health—are reviewed, with GP recommendations provided when clinically appropriate. Lifestyle factors like nutrition, movement, stress, work, relationships, and circumstances are also taken into account. A thorough psychiatric assessment includes a medication review and personalized recommendations. Finally, we offer telehealth burnout support and create a psychiatric formulation with biopsychosocial considerations.
